New Years Eve was mixed

After working all day I visited my friend who I spent last New Years with, best New Years ever, and was there for about an hour but felt kind of awkward, I just felt off. I didn’t know anyone there which is normally ok because I am so out there and bubbly but I just couldn’t get into the mood.

My best friend T called me to go and visit her at her ex-boyfriends house. It was even more awkward there, I just felt even more out of place, everyone there was covered in tattoos and were not very friendly towards me. I usually hangout with people from the scene crowd in Adelaide and I have no issue with that, I mean I have facial peircings and am probably going to get tattoos  but as I said before I just felt very out of place. We ended up going to another party and T wanted me to stay until midnight but I just felt so excluded mainly because T was being all coupley with her ex, after EVERYTHING we have gone through with him, I have no problem with him at all but together they are just toxic.

I rang in the New Year with no view of the fireworks and a quick kiss from T. 10 mins later I went back to my other friends house and saw the last of the fireworks. There was this boy there who I have never met before but who studies med with some of my friends, L. We started being silly and very flirty which was so much fun, I haven’t laughed like that in so long. There was a long effort between L and I to throw the other in the pool…well we all ended up in the pool. I felt like a kid again.

Some silly T drama later I left and took L home and ended up in bed about 4 after seeing my lovely housemate D for a bit.

NEW YEARS DAY WAS 42 degrees…and our air con broke. D and I went to Bunnings and bought 6 fans to cool ourselves down. We drank beers in front of the TV watching misfits and eating sausages…how very Australian…

So the New Year is here and hopefully it is a good one. It will be great and I am going to be thankful for everything I can.
